Ken Carson has officially earned his first-ever No. 1 album as More Chaos debuts at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

The project moved 59,500 equivalent album units in its opening week — a career-best for the rising star and his first entry to crack the top 10. The majority of those numbers came from streaming, reflecting Carson’s strong digital presence and loyal fanbase.

More Chaos also represents another major win for Playboi Carti’s Opium label, as Carson replaces his mentor at the summit. Carti’s MUSIC slips to No. 7 this week after previously spending three nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 following its long-anticipated release.

Elsewhere on the chart, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX continues to gain momentum, climbing back up to No. 2 as the Compton rapper hits the road for his Grand National Tour with SZA. The SOS singer, meanwhile, holds strong at No. 3, pushing her blockbuster album back into the top tier.

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s collaborative tape, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, also maintains a spot in the top five despite dropping from No. 3 — a testament to its continued streaming success.

Ken Carson’s ascent has been building for a while. He received a notable co-sign from JAY-Z in 2023, when Hov included Carson’s “Jennifer’s Body” on a year-end playlist alongside industry heavyweights like Drake, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj.

In a rare interview with PopKillerTV last year, Carson shared insight into his creative approach and his connection with fans.

“I think it plays a lot with being true to yourself,” he said. “People gravitate to things they can really feel, rather than just another rapper — because there’s a million rappers.”

He added: “You gotta care about everything you do in life — from your clothes to your music to your lifestyle. It’s a different level of being an artist.”

And with More Chaos now officially No. 1, it’s clear that Ken Carson is living that philosophy — and it’s paying off.
