Lil Wayne couldn’t help but crack a joke after finding out Papoose is reportedly dating boxing champ Claressa Shields, following his split from longtime partner Remy Ma.

While gracing the cover of Rolling Stone’s latest issue, some off-the-cuff moments didn’t make the main story — like when Wayne randomly asked if Remy and Pap were still an item. According to the mag, both Lil Twist and the interviewer gave Wayne the lowdown, breaking the news that Papoose had moved on with Shields.

Wayne’s response? Pure Weezy: “He like somebody that could beat his ass.”

The rapper’s quip comes in the midst of a very public breakup saga between Remy Ma and Papoose. Their rumored marital issues went public last December when the two clashed on social media. The drama intensified after Remy accused her estranged husband of having an affair with Shields — sparking an all-out online war.

Shields didn’t stay silent. She clapped back at Remy with some heated words and even challenged her to a fight.

“Claressa Shields vs @RealRemyMa Feb 2nd!” she tweeted. “Come get yo ass whooped crash out!!”
She added later: “I’m not a bitch you can bully. You’re bitter and mad. You making yourself look stupid, just stop it.”

Remy, in turn, accused Shields of planting false stories in the media, leaked alleged messages between the boxer and Papoose, and dubbed her his “weirdo girlfriend.”

In response, Papoose aired out his side of the drama, claiming Remy had been unfaithful “repeatedly” and that he’d been seeking a divorce for some time. Things escalated further when Remy accused him of domestic violence and of having her arrested — allegations Papoose has firmly denied.

To add fuel to the fire, Pap shared a cozy photo of Remy with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain — the same artist she had been rumored to be dating since summer.

Now, both couples have seemingly moved on, with Remy and Eazy publicly confirming their romance, and Pap and Claressa following suit.
