Ray J has publicly stated that he believes Sean “Diddy” Combs will prevail in his upcoming sex trafficking trial, despite the serious nature of the charges brought against the music mogul.

During a recent appearance on Sneako’s livestream, the “One Wish” singer expressed his confidence in Diddy’s legal chances, saying, “Puffy ‘bout to get out too, on the dead homies.” He went on to question the strength of the prosecution’s case: “All that stuff they’re trying to charge him for is nonsense, bro. He did something bad that we all saw, and that was unacceptable — but that’s not what these charges are about. The charges are weak, and it’s not funny, and it’s not okay.”

Ray J’s stance on the situation has shifted over time. In the immediate aftermath of Cassie’s November 2023 lawsuit — in which she accused Diddy of sexual assault and sex trafficking — Ray J condemned Diddy’s alleged actions, calling them “demonic.” However, his tone softened significantly following a reported confrontation with Diddy’s sons at a Halloween party later that year.

In a November interview on Cuomo (NewsNation), Ray J expressed growing skepticism about the increasing volume of allegations being made against the Bad Boy Records founder. “Is any of it real? Or how much of it is real?” he asked. “They just keep piling on. Now everybody’s starting to feel weird about it, and it’s starting to look one-sided against one man. People aren’t liking it.”

Ray J also pushed back on claims from prosecutors about Diddy’s alleged “freak offs” — parties described as elaborate sexual performances involving coercion and exploitation. “I think there might’ve been times people partied with a certain team, and there might’ve been a ‘freak off,’ right?” he said. “But I can guarantee you, most celebrities that went to Diddy’s parties never even heard of a ‘freak off.’”

He concluded by questioning the legitimacy of some of the more sensational allegations: “What does that really mean? Is that really real? Are we creating a new narrative? Was there really dope in the baby oil? What are we doing?”
