The anonymous woman who previously accused JAY-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual assault has filed a motion to dismiss the defamation lawsuit brought against her by the rap mogul.

The woman had originally alleged that JAY-Z and Diddy raped her when she was 13 years old, but later withdrew the lawsuit after multiple inconsistencies in her story were uncovered. In response, JAY-Z filed a defamation suit against both the woman and her attorney, Tony Buzbee, arguing that the claims were knowingly false and damaging to his reputation.

In her recent court filing, the woman argues that JAY-Z’s defamation suit should be thrown out on the grounds that her original statements were made within the context of legal proceedings, which she contends are protected under litigation privilege. She also claims that her interview with NBC was entirely based on the content of the court documents and did not include any additional or unprotected statements.

JAY-Z and his legal team have not yet publicly responded to the motion.

Tony Buzbee, the woman’s attorney, previously filed his own motion to dismiss, asserting that an agreement had been reached between the two parties. According to Buzbee, the case was resolved on February 4, 2025, with a voluntary dismissal of the initial lawsuit following a settlement.

However, JAY-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, strongly refuted that claim, stating: “Total lie. He brought a false case, lost badly, and was forced to dismiss quickly. End of story.”

The court has yet to rule on the motions to dismiss.
