‘Fruit and Flowers’ is an intimate and emotional album by Elieau, released on June 15th, 2025. The songs were created in the comfort of his home, during the still early mornings of parenthood, resulting in a sound that is both vulnerable and honest. The music doesn’t try to be loud or big; in fact, it might be the opposite. This album feels like taking the quiet thoughts in one’s head and pouring them out into words and melody. Tracks like “Cries and Takeaway” remind us that sometimes the things that have the most meaning in our lives, like food or our baby’s cries, can feel almost mundane at times. “Equal Parts” is about finding the balance of becoming a parent, while also remaining your own person.

“The Table” is a softer song about one’s family, and all the memories and heirlooms surrounding it. The album’s centerpiece, and titular track “Fruit and Flowers”, is a beautiful love song to Elieau’s partner. It also has a warm, handmade quality to it. A song that adds to the introspective yet upbeat mood of the album is “Divas That Time”. It’s also one of the few songs on the album with a cheeky edge, though the emotions are still right there, in full force. “Years Take Flight” is the calm before the storm, feeling like a dream-like memory one wishes they could hold onto. “Where Dragons Dwell” is a song about unspoken fears and suppressed emotions. “Letters Never Sent” is a quiet standout in the album, subdued but powerful all the same. A song about the things we wished we could have told our parents but never did. “Found My Way” is one of the songs that evokes a sense of comfort, as if you just found a way to heal yourself.

“Aiming High” is a track about one’s quiet ambitions and wishes. “Little White Dove” is soft, pure, and as the title suggests, very white. “Elliot’s Lullaby” is a track made for Elieau’s son, a sweet and pure moment. Finally, “My Island” serves as a sort of denouement, as it evokes a sense of peace and finality. In a nutshell, this is the type of album you play for yourself during those quiet, empty moments in life. The times when all you can think about are your thoughts, when you’re alone with your memories and regrets, or when you can’t even breathe but still manage to find that one song that perfectly encapsulates everything you’re feeling. Elieau knows how to make music that sounds like home, and sometimes, that is the only thing that we need.
