Fat Joe recently expressed that no West Coast artist has ever had the level of dominance Kendrick Lamar has achieved in the past year.
During an episode of his Joe and Jada podcast, the “Make It Rain” rapper discussed Kendrick’s rise as a radio staple, particularly since his high-profile rivalry with Drake.
Joe shared: “What I can tell you is, boy, that Kendrick Lamar gets some spins in LA radio…” He continued, “I was there last week, and I’ve never seen anything like that: every single song, ‘Turn his TV off…’ What? It’s a fact. Kendrick Lamar is getting played nine out of every 10 songs in L.A. right now. Not even Snoop Dogg, not even Tupac — nobody from L.A. has dominated like this guy.”
He added, “If you’re from L.A., you probably think there’s only one guy on Earth, Kendrick Lamar. I’m just keeping it real with you.”
